RIP D.C. Fontana

D.C. Fontana passed away on December 2 at the age of 80. She is well-remembered by me for writing a couple of the best Spock/Vulcan episodes: “Journey to Babel” and “This Side of Paradise” . Other favorites were “Charlie X” and “Tomorrow is Yesterday”.  I met her briefly at a convention years ago and said, “You’re a Spock fan girl, like me.” “Big time,” she laughed.

D was the first — and only, for many years — woman writer of Star Trek.

She will be missed.
